I'm always craving this place, but sadly I haven't found anywhere like it in OC or LA, so I always have to get it whenever I come down to SD.
You can order your dry pot based on the steps in the front of the menu, then choose add-ons based on personal preference. My personal favorite add-ons are SPAM and CRAB STICKS! Definitely get these in your pot. I also like adding Napa cabbage too for some texture, but they have a lot of different veggie options. I'd say a large pot with a few add-ons is good for 5-7 people, depending on your appetites and how hungry you all are. The spice also builds up as you eat, so go conservative with the spice level if you aren't sure.
The only downside is I feel like the ratio of certain items is a little off. There are usually only a few pieces of spam and crab sticks so they disappear super quickly after everyone has grabbed one or two pieces. There also weren't many noodles either. I usually order beef tongue as my meat, and while it's amazingly delicious, we're usually left with a ton of beef tongue and nothing else in the pot at the end. It does get old just eating straight beef tongue towards the end so we usually just pack it to go.
Tip: they offer 10% off the bill if you pay with cash! -

One of my friends doesn't like hot pot so we eat here and get 'dry pot' instead.
Parking: big parking lot.
Service: good when there is more than one waiter.
This place is popular so they get busy at dinner.
Chicken: good, pieces are fairly small.
Beef: a little too fatty.
Chicken wing: a pain with the bones.
Medium size is good for 3 people.
Flavors are good, lots of options. I usually go for garlic and mild spicy. Mild is actually fairly spicy for a regular person IMO. Each bowl comes standard with cauliflower, potatoes and sprouts. Not usually a fan of cauliflower but with the spices it's good.
Make sure to get rice ($1 extra per person) or add noodles ($0.99) to your pot.
I always add broccoli ($2). Cabbage ($0.99) and fried tofu ($3) are good additions as well.
We'll be back! -

First time here and got the sizzling rabbit meat pot and the wontons in spicy sauce.
My friend and I didn't order rice with the pot but I would highly suggest getting rice because it was pretty salty! The flavors of the pot was good. We got the garlic flavor. If I went next time I would want to try chicken or maybe crab. The rabbit meat tasted a bit old.
The wontons has so LITTLE filling in them! Majority of it was just wonton wrapper! It was kinda ridiculous lol. The flavor and spiciness was good though.
Overall I would come back to try other foods! -

First trip here was with a group of 8 of us, some of whom had already came here before, so we took their suggestions and ran with them. We got a large pot with Beef Tongue and Lamb, with the Garlic sauce and Mild Spicyness. We added Cabbage, Wide Noodles, Enoki Mushrooms, Fish Cake and Spam.
We didn't wait too long after we ordered, as the food was brought out promptly along with rice. The pot seemed like a good amount, and after we had finished our meal, the large for 8 of us was perfect. I think we could have also done 2 Mediums if people wanted different flavors.
The Beef Tongue was SUPER tender, falling apart so easily when you ate it. The lamb was a little harder to eat as it was on the bone, but still pretty good. Would definitely order the Beef Tongue again though. The Garlic flavor was delicious, and I didn't think Mild Spicy was too bad, some of our friends can't handle too much so this was bordering their spice tolerance.
Definitely coming back again to try out different meats and add-ons! -

If you are into that fun-loving numb and spicy flavor, sizzling pot king should be your go-to dry hot pot place. I have recently been really getting into Chinese flavors and Szechuan seasoning, and I really enjoy bringing people to this place. This was the first and only dry pot place I went to, and I absolutely love it!
Usually get the braised pork belly in medium (2 people) or large (3 or more people), side of rice, and an additional meat. Just for my most recent trip did my cousin and I try the Szechuan Dan Dan noodles, and they were delicious. Not too spicy and the sauce was thick and only a bit oily, but overall great.
*TIP*: If you order an additional meat, the size of your meal goes up a size. For example, if you got griddled pork ribs in small and ordered 2 extra meats of beef and lamb, you now have a large portion. If you have a medium and order one meat, then you also have a large. Just your normal basic food math equation. So just be careful not to over-order.
With every order, you choose a size, flavor, and spice level. Normally I like just getting medium size, numbing and spicy flavor, and mild (just so everyone can eat it comfortably). Butttt my favorite part of this whole dish, isn't even the meats, but the sides you get of celery, cauliflower, bean sprouts, and potatoes. HONESTLY THESE SIDES WITH THESE FLAVORS IS TO DIE FOR!!! I never eat cauliflower unless it's seasoned with Szechuan peppers. Since it's dry hot pot, it's easy to take leftovers home and reheat! Love love coming here and sad I won't be able to come back for a while since I'm leaving San Diego :( but please come and check this place out and enjoy for yourselves!!
